Bro. Brian - GREAT ARTICLE! I am copying it to share with some of our folks. I too believe God is getting the church ready to work as HIS hands and feet. Praying for you and the great people at Faith. We love Faith Church and pray God's richest blessing on it in the weeks and years to come. Keep up the good work!

Rachel and I had a great time in Dallas last weekend. It was nice to get away and turn off the cell phones (sorry to the thousands of you guys who tried calling).

To clarify one statement in this post, the people here at Faith have definitely made us feel like we are home. But let's apply this to our guests. People come in and worship with us, but there are several places to worship within this town. Why do people stop and join churches? Most of the time it is because that church has made them feel like they belong. It's like having Thanksgiving dinner at some strangers house. You want to be where you feel like you belong.

Our job to our guests is not to make them feel happy because they came, but help them belong.

Well just don't charge me $12 to park and $50 to get in the front door, but then if folks quit tithing we may have to resort to that. OOOOPPPS! Sorry. Anyways,I sure don't think we need to be intertained in God's house. I always thought we came to learn, worship, praise Him, and grow.

Brian,
Since you were brought to Faith as Worship Pastor, I see your priorities are a follows:
*Prayer
*Preparation (Worship Engagement)
*People (Visiting/Assisting)
*Delegation should be used often and frequently! Allow others to take the lead on ministry they feel called or lead to do especially lay staff. By doing this, you can be super effective in your calling and hit the target as a rifle instead of being spread thin like shotgun pellets.

In Christ,
Bro. Milton

Wow, this really got me to thinking as well! When I was a little kido I use to have an imaginary play mate. Well, he wasn't imaginary it was the son of the rifle man on T.V. His name on the show was Mark. Anyways(quit laughing) Mark went everywhere I went, well almost everywhere,he was there when I played outside and all. I talked to him and in my mind he talked back. Now as an adult as a Christian, I have the Lord. But,I,too at times think He is millions of miles away but at the same time I know He is a omnipresent God. As I read your comments literally omnipresent means right here with me at all times in the room in the car all the time. Wow that will stop ya in your tracks real fast and make ya think, how I have, at times, such small faith in a Big,Mighty God! And, what we think of Him is just a glimpse of what we will see of Him in Glory!!
So, as I have become an adult my imaginary friend has long been gone and forgotten, BUT replaced with a REAL friend who walks with me and talks with me and who will never leave my side.
Thanks for opening my eyes a little wider!

How cool that he says that he is a miracle...even when God did not answer his prayer for arms and legs. He still feels his life is a living example of God's grace.
