Prism Music Publishers have a free preview of music that they are about to release. The question is, would you like to come? It’s totally free including the free dinner. All you need to do is let me know that you would like to go. I need to RSVP soon because they need to know how many to plan for. They will be handing us a ton of music, course choir members are not allowed to keep theirs. But I am planning on going if you would like to go.

When: Tuesday, April 29, 2008 (6:00 pm Dinner/ 6:45-9:00pm preview)

Where: First Baptist Church Moores Lane (have you seen their music department? Then you have to come with me just to see their stuff).

I would like for you to come with me.

On March 2nd. Faith Baptist will be joining up with New Town Baptist Church. There is also going to be a joint choir. I am really excited about this weekend. However, the weekend will not be difficult to prepare for, there will be a little preparation.

On THURSDAY Feb 28th. Faith Choir will meet with the New Town Choir at New Town to work on a couple of different choir specials. One choir special is the Faith Fav “Halfway”. The second special is a New Town Fav “I will sing Hallelujah”.

Also, there will be a shorter rehearsal Sunday at 4:45 at Faith to run through the service. Please mark in on your calendars to be a part of the joint choir. It is going to be a blast.

Okay guys, help me plan the party.

1. When? - Here’s what I am thinking. I am not a big fan of doing Christmas parties during the Christmas holidays. Why? Because I have asked so much of the band members and the choir members, that I hate to take up another night that most people don’t have free anyway. So I like doing it afterwards. Okay, so if we have a party in Jan. we can either have a party before choir practice resumes or we can have a party after choir practice resumes. If we do it after practice resumes it come be a big drawing card to get more people involved in the choir. If we do it before practice starts, I imagine that it will only be current choir members. I wish to use the choir party to draw prospects into the choir.
2. What to eat? - I’m game for anything
3. What to do? - Yeah, not creative either.

Help me plan this out.

Okay, please don’t let me forget to mention this. We will be taking a group photo of the choir on Thursday, Dec. 13.

Dress code for the cantata as well as the pictures are as follows.

Women - black bottoms and red tops.

Men - black bottoms and white tops.

Practice is necessary for the cantata. It will be the only time that we get to run through the cantata in the sanctuary. It will be the only time that we get to set the sound. See you Thursday.

Saturday, January 26 at First Baptist Church Moores Lane, their will be an opportunity for Texarkana area musicians to be creitiqued by a professonal judge in voice, piano, string, brass and woodwind performance.

“Music is an important part of the worship experience at any church. As young musicians develop their performance skills, they may seek to offer their talents back to their churches and to the Lord. Bowie Baptist Association offers this Sacred Music Festival as a means of encouraging young students to grow in their artistry and technique, so they can perform confidently as either volunteer or professional church musicians.”

PRIZES will include certificates, ribbons, and as a trophy, a collectible bust of Brahms. The top scorer in Category III will receive a gift certificate to LefeWay Book Store.
